The tench fishing at Gingerbread Lake has been picking up with Alan Wilkie catching a number of six pounders through the week during daytime sessions. Anthony Pogmore landed a 5lb 12oz male tench which he caught on a Scopex/Squid/Robin Red mini boilie and followed this up with a 9lb male bream on his next visit.
These are photos of some of the carp recently stocked into McGregor Lake. There were about 150 of them in total.

Paul Witchell fished an overnight session at Gingerbread Lake and was well pleased to catch a big 27lb 2oz common carp. Head bailiff Dave Halleybone found the lake’s carp difficult to tempt but reported catching two tench around 7lb each.

During the week, around 50 heavily scaled and fast-growing mirror carp were stocked into the Links Pool to further improve sport. Club chairman and EA officer Neil Sampson said they were some of the best looking carp he had ever seen and were supplied by Sport and Leisure Fisheries.

Alan’s persistence was rewarded with the capture of two big pike, a 20lb 12oz specimen and a good-sized double. A few big carp have been spotted topping in Deep Bay but no reports of any action have been reported during the week.
