Dean Macey is the star of the show at McGregor Lake
Barry Fox and his fishing companion Roger Worth opted for a day at New Road Lake and had yet another memorable day. Barry used fished with a Mainline boilie to catch a super-conditioned 22lb 14oz mirror carp and Roger had a surprise catch in the form of a 17lb 4oz pike which picked up his luncheon meat hook bait. Later in the day, Roger hooked a very heavy fish that he played carefully for ages only to lose it when his hook pulled as the scrap drew to an end.
Gingerbread Lake record smashed as fish go on a feeding frenzy
Some fabulous catches have been made from BHAA venues over the past fortnight with a new lake record for Gingerbread being set by head bailiff Dave Hallybone. Fishing an overnight session, Dave caught the magnificent ‘Cluster’ weighing 41lb 4oz, a pound heavier than its previous heaviest weight.
A soaking for Rob but he’s not complaining!
Rob connected with the fish which turned out to be a new p.b. for him in the form of an immaculate 33lb 8oz mirror carp. By the time the fish was returned to the lake, Rob was well and truly soaked but he could rest contentedly for the rest of the night. Lake regulars Jarred Cooper and Steve Sewell caught three low twenties between them all on S2t bait.
Its lucky thirteen for Alan!
Alan Wilkie carried on where he left off from the previous week at Gingerbread Lake where he amassed a huge 13 fish haul of tench.
Big bream and tench on the feed!
Another warm week has improved catch rates no end at all BHAA’s still water venues.
Bream have begun spawning at Gingerbread Lake but still continued to feed.
