Barry lands his third twenty pound pike!
Barry Fox decided to try for pike at a BHAA controlled lake which has received less pressure than some of the others in recent weeks. He mounted a sardine on to a uni-hook rig float-fished about a foot off the bottom. A single take produced yet another huge pike for Barry, this time a 22lb 8oz specimen and his third over the 20lb barrier this season. He fished on until dusk without any further action but, when tackling down, he threw his hook bait into the lake only to see it devoured by yet another big pike. Barry tried a few more casts to see if he could tempt the beast but without further success.
Mick breaks the 10lb barrier again!
John Murphy. Decided to fish in the Links Pool after he found his preferred swims occupied on Gingerbread Lake. John found that he had to fish tight to the thick lily beds in order to get bites and, as a consequence he lost two good fish that made a dash for cover when hooked. However, he was pleased to land a 10lb 3oz bream, one of the biggest reported from this venue, plus a stockie mirror carp.

Some fabulous catches have been made from BHAA venues over the past fortnight with a new lake record for Gingerbread being set by head bailiff Dave Hallybone. Fishing an overnight session, Dave caught the magnificent ‘Cluster’ weighing 41lb 4oz, a pound heavier than its previous heaviest weight.
