Night Fishing at Gingerbread Lake and the Sandy Lakes

It has become necessary to limit the numbers of anglers fishing overnight at Gingerbread and Sandy Lakes in order to preserve the quality of fishing for both day visitor and session angler alike.

Ordinary (and life) members are able to fish Gingerbread Lake between the following times:

From half an hour before sunrise to half an hour after sunset. (For sunrise and sunset times see National Press)

Also, members are also allowed to fish overnight at Gingerbread and Sandy Lakes on two separate nights each year on application in writing to Mr Peter Currell, 55 Gaunts Way, Letchworth, Herts stating the date of proposed visit and membership number. Mr Peter Currell will normally issue a permit to cover the visit provided that the application has been made in good time and the date has not been oversubscribed. No night fishing is permitted without obtaining prior written authorisation.

Optional Night Fishing Permit

Members wishing to night fish on a more frequent basis may apply for separate annual night permits for Gingerbread Lake or the Sandy Lakes (valid until 15th June each year) at an additional cost of £100 and £50 respectively via the Membership Secretary. The number of night permits will be limited to 80 for Gingerbread Lake and 50 for the two lakes at Sandy. Please note that the night permit will incorporate a photograph and cannot be issued unless two passport-sized photographs accompany the application. New applicants will be subject to vetting and approval by the Board. Either night permit will allow the holder to fish overnight at the Links Pool where night fishing restrictions have been imposed for 2006.

Membership books and Night Permits must be carried at all times whilst on Association Waters
