Its lucky thirteen for Alan!

Alan Wilkie carried on where he left off from the previous week at Gingerbread Lake where he amassed a huge 13 fish haul of tench. His catch included 5 fish over 6lbs and two over 7lbs and were all caught in a single day visit. Alan’s best fish weighed 7lb 13oz and 7lb 1oz. Paul Elt caught a huge 8lb 6oz tench that was part of a four fish haul. Paul landed three tench and a 9lb bream using maggot feeder tactics. Andrew Stapleton fished an overnight session and found the bream spawning in his swim. The carp were there too gorging themselves on the bream spawn. The next morning Andrew landed a scale-perfect 29lb 4oz common and a 7lb tench. Alex. Malcolm was starting to pack up when he had a screaming run that turned out to be another big common, this time a 22lb specimen.

Thomas Pashley went with his dad to fish New Road Lake where the twelve year-old caught three double figured bream, the best weighing a colossal 12lb 6oz and a mirror carp weighing 17lb 15oz. Thomas’s other bream weighed 10lb 8oz and 11lb 8oz. Alan Wilkie fished an overnight session landing bream of 10lb 1oz and 10lb 5oz and no fewer than six double-figured carp. Alan fished into a cool northerly breeze to take carp of 10lbs, 14lb 6oz, 14lb 8oz, 15lb 13oz, 15lb 14oz and 19lb 5oz. Alan found the carp jumping in his swim and decided not to introduce any freebies to avoid scaring the fish out of the area and his tactics worked!
