Dale and Clint continue their hot run!

Father and son duo Dale and Clint Walters have enjoyed a tremendous first season at Gingerbread Lake when other anglers have struggled and they were both at it again! Clint started the ball rolling when he fished the pylon swim at the far end of the lake catching an immaculate 27lb 6oz common carp. Later, Dale returned to fish in the factory bay landing a 19lb mirror plus two big bream that he did not weigh. The fishing has been difficult of late due to falling leaves and drifting weed but there were still fish to be caught. Two of Dale’s fish were caught on Dynamite boilies and the third fell to a Destiny Baits boilie. Roach and Rudd were plentiful and could be seen rising in most of the sheltered swims.

Despite the milder conditions, sport has been slow New Road Lake although the odd carp has been hooked on margin-fished boilies. A few jack pike were being caught on lures although dead baits generally account for the bigger fish.

Carp were still actively feeding at McGregor Lake with fish to low doubles being caught on most days. Bream also featured with numerous fish around the 4-5lb mark being caught. Most carp baits were being accepted by the fish including boilies, mini-boilies and pellets. Barry Fox decided to go after the lake’s pike again and chalked up another two doubles on his latest trip. Barry has now converted to using only single hooks and has found no problem in hooking fish using small dead baits.
