Thunder, Lightening and Fish!

John Murphy got a good soaking when he fished at Gingerbread Lake throughout a day of torrential thunder storms but found the lake’s tench to be feeding avidly. He caught five tench to 7lbs and even had two fish in his landing net at the same time on one occasion. Also, he caught an 18lb 12oz heavily scaled mirror carp to make it a worthwhile trip. Steve Curtin was pleased to get off the mark by catching a 22lb mirror carp during a recent visit. He returned to the same swim the following day to catch another 22 pounder, this time a 22lb common carp as well as a couple of bonus tench. Mark Johnson caught the biggest reported carp of the week, a 24lb mirror carp.

Members are advised that the footbridge over the ditch allowing access to the mill end of High Romper is in need of repair. Arrangements will be made to repair or renew it but until this work is done please refrain from using it.
