Two upper 30s caught at Gingerbread

Despite water temperatures still hovering around 50f, fish are feeding well at Gingerbread Lake. Mark Collins returned to the lake after a long break and caught two carp, the best a 35lb mirror. After catching a 27lb mirror reported last week, Norman Brinn added a 26lb mirror to his tally. He returned for another overnight session to land another big carp, this time a 36lb 4oz mirror. Bailiff Derek Orchard landed two big bream fishing in the factory bay before ending his stay with a low double carp. Another of the club’s bailiffs, Richard Holden spotted a group of carp moving in the factory bay and, within an hour, caught a 16lb fish. John Murphy netted a 9lb male bream in full breeding condition and added a nice tench later in the day.

Leslie Howe fished at Swan Lake where he had a great day’s fishing catching plenty of good-sized roach up to 1lb 8oz.

Members are reminded that McGregor Lake has been reserved for an Over 60s match on Wednesday, the 24th of April, but both Swan and Grace Lakes will be available to members on the day.

The past weekend a working party has been busy repairing the access road to the Sandy Lakes complex and tracks and parking areas. Vehicle users are asked to drive slowly along roads and tracks to avoid breaking up the surfaces and so causing the club more expense. Offenders will be punished when identified.
