McGregor Lake provides most of the action

With high pressure dominating for most of the week, there were few fish being caught. At Gingerbread Lake, plenty of carp were visible but they were invariably in the midst of dense weed beds. Bream were still being caught in open water with John Murphy catching a beauty weighing close to 10lbs whilst Winston Pogmore caught a smaller one in a short daytime session in two-bar bay. Club chairman fished a rare overnight session at the lake catching commons weighing 20lb 8oz and 8lbs. Also, he tempted two good-sized tench weighing 6lb 8oz and 6lb 12oz.

It was the Keeble family who took the honours when they opted to fish at McGregor Lake during the week. Roy Keeble caught a 15lb mirror and then changed to waggler fishing. This method produced plenty of roach for him up to 4oz and skimmer bream to over 1lbs. Sweet corn was the successful bait that tempted the fish. However, it was Karen Keeble who was to catch two cracking carp, another scale perfect 13lb 10oz common and a 19lb 1oz mirror, a new personal best.
