Wet weather affects sport

The heavy rain and mild conditions should have heralded a feeding bonanza but this unseasonal weather seemed to have the reverse effect on sport. Only the occasional carp was seen breaking the surface at Gingerbread Lake and daytime runs were almost nonexistent. However, Kevin Bacon returned to the venue keen to repeat his previous week’s success and a move of swim finally enabled him to find some feeding fish. During his session he was desperately unhappy to lose a big common that he had brought to the jaws of his landing net several times before losing it when the hook became dislodged. His grief was short lived though as he went on to catch two cracking mirrors weighing 26lbs and 27lbs. By the way, no reports have been received of any of the carp recently stocked being caught despite having never been fished for before.
