Simon Lashmore managed to catch a couple of sizable pike fishing at the sandy Lakes complex. His pike weighed 13lb 2oz and 12lb 12oz and both fell to ledgered mackerel.
The local PAC will be holding a fish-in over the weekend of Saturday (23/01) and Sunday (24/01) on the 16 Foot Drain at Stonea. The venue has been producing some good fish with a number of 20s caught by John and Robert Lawrie and their friends as well as numerous upper doubles. Accommodation is being sought at the Golden Lion for those who want to fish on both days. Please contact Val Tomlin if you want to participate in this event and if you would like overnight accommodation (Tel: 07802 156196 or e-mail email@example.com).
The club’s board has become increasingly concerned with the behaviour of a few individuals who have blatantly broken club rules or acted like selfish idiots. Incidences have been reported of security gates being left open at Gingerbread Lake; chains designed to protect the soft ground from vehicle damage being tampered with; one individual using more than the permitted three rods at Gingerbread Lake. Any member found to be behaving in such a manner risks expulsion from the club and law abiding members are asked to report any such culprits to the club.
The continuing mild weather has kept carp feeding at all BHAA’s venues. Dean Flattley finished the old year in style by catching a huge 38lb mirror carp whilst fishing at Gingerbread Lake. He caught the fish using Core Baits’ SSK boilies.
