The cold weather is alluring!

By Anthony Pogmore • February 13th, 2017

In the wintery conditions, Simon Izzard put his carp rods away and decided to go for pike instead. He decided to lure fish at Gingerbread Lake and was successful in catching several pike up to low doubles. Another two carp were reported being caught at the lake too showing that the fish are now starting to move despite the icy conditions. At Swan Lake, four carp were caught over the previous weekend including, at least, two over 20lbs.

Invitations for members to renew their night permits are being sent out to existing permit holders so anyone not receiving an invitation within the next 14 days and wishing to renew should contact Dave Hallybone who has now taken over responsibility for issuing permits. His e-mail address is david.hallybone@gmail.com. Also, non-permit holders wishing to be put on to the waiting list should write to him stating which venue they are seeking a permit for and providing contact details.

Next season, membership books will be available additionally from Go Fishing in Bedford where some great deals are already on offer for both bait and tackle with discounts available for production of Biggleswade & Hitchin club books.
