Tench fishing in full swing at Gingerbread

The recent hot weather and welcome rain has resulted in an upsurge in sport at Gingerbread Lake. Keen float fisherman Dave Holland found himself catching several tench as well as other fish including bream, rudd and roach with fish coming fast and furious. Another angler in an adjacent swim was enjoying similar success whilst Winston Pogmore found tench feeding in his swim on the opposite bank and catching a couple of fish to around 6lbs.

Carp at Swan Lake have been showing on the surface probably as a precursor to spawning and Nick Jarrold took advantage of this by tempting a 21lb 4oz mirror carp on floaters.

Paul Burton enjoyed another good weekend’s carping on McGregor Lake catching 4 carp to mid-doubles. Anglers fishing during the day were picking up a couple of carp each ledgering with boilies. Robert Livock moved up to the shallows where a steady breeze was blowing in. He went on to catch two carp during the day, a fully-scaled mirror of 10lb 8oz and a small common of 9lb 12oz despite missing a couple of screaming runs.
