Anthony Pogmore fished McGregor lake during the week, but found the carp weren’t really feeding, but persevered and did eventually manage to catch a couple of low double figure carp, while another regular Robert Livock also found the larger fish reluctant to feed, managing four carp throughout the week, but none of which topped 10lbs. Mick Usher, did an overnight session managing to catch 4 carp and 3 bream, but he to failed to find any of the bigger fish in the lake
Despite the fish being reluctant to feed, David Grant decided to a two day session on the lake, picking up 5 fish to 18lb on the first day on MAD boilies fished along the margins. Another angler on the lake, Alan Wilkie, was fishing for the carp when his alarm signalled a run, he successfully land the fish which turned out to be a 12lb pike hooked squarely in the mouth, the bait – legered sultana’s!!
Although the carp were reluctant to feed, Ben Howell found the bream in feeding mood, landing 5 in a short session, the two largest both being over 9lb.
An Environment Agency bailiff went round the Sandy complex during the week checking Rod Licences and was pleased to inform that everyone on the lake had been checked and found to be in possession of the required rod licence.
The board are pleased to inform the members that the Otter Fence for McGregor lake is due to be installed in October, once completed this will mean that the three main lakes on the club ticket will be fully protected
