Cold Weather Carp

By Alan Davies • January 8th, 2018

Despite the recent cold weather, Paul Burton has continued his recent catching streak with a stunning 13lb fully scaled mirror carp from McGregor Lake, he reported that in order to land it he first had to break the marginal ice that had formed.

Fraser Hayden, had a short session on one of the lesser fished sections of the River Ivel. Finding the river in good condition following the recent high levels he managed several chub up to 3 1/2 lb and dace up to 6 ounces, the successful method being trotted flake fished over mashed bread.
