Carp for McGregor

During the last week, a consignment of around 100 carp were delivered by Sport & Leisure Fisheries and stocked into McGregor Lake. The fish weighed between 3-8lbs and included many fully-scaled mirrors, linears, scattered scaled fish and a few commons and will give a boost to the fishing in this lake.

Carp in Gingerbread were on the feed in the recent mild weather, with a number coming out to those on the lake, the largest being a 30.02 Mirror to Craig Jones.

A member fishing for pike at Swan Lake had a surprise catch when his herring deadbait was taken by a 21lb carp. He later returned to the water and caught a 15lb carp but this time on boilies

Tempsford Saw Mill Trial . The EA have advised that over several days the gate will be incrementally lifted. It will then remain open for a year and the impacts on water levels, river users, ecology and the flow of the river will be monitored. The club are asking for members to advise the board of any effects that this has on the fishing upstream at Higher Romper and downstream at Church End and Ouse Farm. This information shall be passed to the EA and will help make an informed decision about the future of Tempsford Saw Mill Sluice.
