News Update: 21st April 2019

During a day session at Gingerbread Lake, Andy Brown smashed his UK p.b. by nearly 5lbs catching a carp known as ‘the big linear’ weighing an impressive 39lb 3oz. The fish was in immaculate condition and Anthony Pogmore was on hand to assist with the weighing. Yannis Spallis caught two 20lb plus carp, the biggest was a 26lb common carp and was unlucky to lose a third fish. Steve Curtin caught his second early season tench during a day visit to the lake.

Bailiff Dave Grant banked a staggering five carp over 20lbs when he fished a three-day session at Swan Lake. His best was a spectacular looking 30lb 12oz fully-scaled mirror caught in the early hours of the morning and was a fish he had hoped to catch for a long while. Dave baited his swim with MAD Baits’ boilies throughout his session and went on to bank a 25lb 11oz common and mirrors weighing 21lb 4oz, 26lb 3oz and 27lb12oz. There was a number of carp caught by other anglers including another 30lb plus mirror.

Robert Livock caught a 15lb 4oz mirror fishing at McGregor Lake during a day visit. Dave Albon found that the fish really started to feed as the sun began to set catching carp weighing 19lb2oz, 18lb 4oz and 13lbs during a day visit whilst another Dave enjoyed similar success by catching carp weighing 16lbs, 18lbs and 16lb 15oz. Karl Franklin again had to wait until well into the day before getting any action but he finished the day on a high by catching a 19lb mirror carp.
