Fraser Hayden continued his fishing exploits on the River Ivel when he decided to fish a stretch at Sandy for a short evening session. He moved from swim to swim in search of fish using small cubes of luncheon meat as bait and went on to catch four chub weighing up to 4lb 4oz. He returned to an adjacent stretch later in the week and added an even bigger chub, this time a 4lb 12oz specimen.

The recent heavy rains has caused some flooding of swims at Swan Lake and this led to a large carp becoming trapped in little over 6 inches of water. Fortunately, bailiff Stephen Chessum was on hand to catch the fish and return it to the lake, it weighed 26lbs!
