News Update: 10th February 2020

Despite the worsening weather conditions, Paul Burton continued his quest for winter carp at McGregor Lake where feeding fish tend to move during the hours of darkness. Last week he added another two nice fish to his tally with mirror carp weighing 14lb 7oz and 16lb 4oz. Karl Franklin has enjoyed some good river fishing on club stretches in the Sandy area catching chub to 5lb 13oz and two trout on recent visits. Also, he witnessed another angler catch a 5lb plus chub too.

BHAA’s management board decided to increase the number of night fishing permits for McGregor Lake to 25 for the coming season, an increase of 5. Membership rates will remain unchanged for next season apart from a small increase in the OAPs’ rate. A decision to revert to the previous seasons’ entry and exit times to the club’s still waters was deferred until the forthcoming AGM when there will be a free vote.

The Board decided they had no option other than to suspend several members who ignored a closure notice at Gingerbread Lake on health and safety grounds whilst tree surgery work was scheduled to take place.
