News Update: 11th October 2020

The previous week saw Chris Jeffries catch two super carp, a common weighing 33lbs and a mirror weighing 29lbs but this week on Swan Lake there were few fish caught apart from perch from around the island. Anthony Pogmore fished for carp all day but only connected with a fish when he started to wind in. It turned out to be a jack pike weighing around 7lbs that snapped at his wafter boilies.

The week looked more promising on McGregor Lake when Robert Livock Landed a 16lb 8oz mirror carp. Another member caught two 16lb mirrors fishing close to some overhanging tree branches. A few carp were caught by anglers fishing in the popular track side swims. Stephen Chessum fished an overnight session for carp but ended up with a surprise catch in the form of a 15lb pike that took his pop-up boily.

It has been necessary to put a chain across the riverside track as the surface has got soft following the recent heavy rain. Vehicles can be parked up to the chain but then anglers must carry their tackle to the swims beyond.
