News Update: 28th December 2020

The recent heavy rain has resulted in Gingerbread Lake and Swan Lake being flooded making fishing impossible and causing damage to the surrounding fences. Also, the gale force winds that followed the rain have resulted in several trees and branches being blown down. At present, a decision has been taken to close Gingerbread Lake on safety grounds and to enable any remedial work to be carried out. Most swims on Swan Lake are flooded and therefore unfishable too.

Trevor Richardson has continued fishing overnight for carp at McGregor Lake where he has been enjoying considerable success catching several double figured mirror carp on his latest session. It shows that the fish continue to feed at low water temperatures although mainly during the night. Robert Livock caught his first carp for several weeks when during a daytime visit a single run resulted in him catching a pristine 15lb common carp in the middle of the day.
