News Update: 28th March 2021

Robert Livock continued his run of catches made from McGregor Lake during short daytime sessions. On his first visit, a sole run produced a dumpy 22lb 8oz mirror carp and when he returned a couple of days later, he caught three more carp, mirrors weighing 12lbs and 13lbs along with a cracking 20lb 8oz common. Another member fishing close by caught several low doubles during the week but reported losing a good fish that found a snag out in the lake.

A member fishing at Swan Lake has also caught two nice carp in recent visits, mirrors weighing 22lbs and 18lb 8oz. He used a minimal number of free offerings to attract the fish instead relying on the quality of his hook baits.

Members are asked to be on the look out for poachers who use the close season to illegally fish the rivers. One such incident took place at Tempsford last week. Please report any such sightings to the Environment Agency on their emergency phone line and contact the rural crime squad by dialing 101. The Police are keen to assist clubs and fishery owners to stamp out this criminal activity.
