News Update: 25th April 2021

Hard overnight frosts, high pressure and bright sunny days tend to be a recipe to put fish off feeding and so it seemed for much of the week at Gingerbread and Swan Lakes. The one water to buck the trend was McGregor Lake where numerous carp were caught interspersed with the odd bream or two. Carp to 20lbs were reported as being caught throughout the week from mainly known holding spots around the lake. Congratulations to bailiff Trevor Richardson who broke the lake record with a 29lb 15oz mirror carp along with four more doubles weighing up to 14lbs. Young Bailey Chessum caught his second carp from the lake after only 15 minutes when a run produced a 17lb 1oz mirror carp for him.

ALL MEMBERS, both night and day permit members, are reminded that they must bring with them a suitable bucket for emergency toilet use. Bailiffs will require any member fishing without such a receptacle to pack up and leave. This rigid enforcement has become necessary because of the actions of one or two selfish individuals who think it is OK to leave their excrement and toilet paper in or nearby swims to the disgust of others.

Membership books for the coming season starting on the 16th of June are being printed and will soon be made available to both existing and new members whilst stocks last.
