The hot weather with light winds made conditions far from ideal for catching fish during much of the past week but members were still able to report some good catches.
At Gingerbread Lake, Ionut Cires continued his run of big carp landing two mirrors both topping 30lbs whilst Graeme Gadsby was rightly pleased to land a cracking looking 19lb 4oz mirror carp which he described as a belated birthday present!
Karl Franklin found the conditions were against him at McGregor Lake where he was only to record one bream during the day. However, he persevered into the evening and was finally rewarded with the capture of a 12lb carp. Lake regular Lloyd Gadsby managed to catch a heavily scaled double figure mirror carp too.
Members are reminded that the Covid outbreak is far from over and they need to be vigilant in protecting themselves from infection or inadvertently passing the virus on to other members. Gate locks and gates can be a risk area of infection so it is important that members continue to sanitize their hands when entering or leaving fisheries.
