Jonah Tidmarsh reported recently catching one of Gingerbread Lake’s sought-after residents, the mirror carp named Moonscale weighing 36lb 1oz. Another member, Jordan, caught a cracking brace of carp at the weekend, a fully scaled mirror and a big common. Both fish were in lovely condition.
The unusually mild weather encouraged Clive Day to try floater fishing for carp at McGregor Lake and it proved to be a good choice as he went on to catch three mirror carp weighing 13lbs, 13lbs and 20lbs. Members consistently baiting up swims have found that bream have moved in to feed instead of the lake’s carp. At the weekend, board members and volunteers carried out a multitude of tasks at both Swan and McGregor Lakes. Working party participants were allowed to fish after work was over for the day. During this time, board member Jamie Boness was pleased to catch a 23lb mirror carp from McGregor Lake whilst another helper caught another big mirror too.
