News Update: 6th March 2022

Another milestone has been reached when Swan Lake became BHAA’s second lake to produce a carp weighing over the magical 40lb mark. The fish known as the two-tone common was caught by a member at just over 41lbs helping to dispel fears that the lake’s carp had reached their maximum growth. It had been caught previously weighing in the mid to upper 30lbs.

The season for river fishing will soon end but BHAA member Steve Warner has managed to catch a cracking chub weighing 6lb 9oz from a popular stretch of the River Ivel.

The club’s Board will be finalising arrangements to introduce some new carp into its three carp lakes and is exploring ways of improving gate security to prevent any chance of access by unwanted furry non-members!
