News Update: 24th July 2022

The recent heatwave made for far from ideal fishing conditions although bailiff Sam Hallybone took advantage of them by fishing overnight at McGregor Lake. Sam had a bumper session landing several mirror and common carp weighing up to 21lbs and a nice tench with runs coming throughout the evening, night and morning. Lloyd Gadsby was keen to try out some new tackle he had bought and was pleased to christen them with two nice mirror carp weighing 13lbs and 14lbs. Ownership of the Roxton estate has recently changed hands and although most of the land lies on the west bank of the River Ouse a small parcel of land is situated on the eastern side where the confluence of the Rivers Ouse and Ivel is.

Members are reminded that the boundary of our fishing rights on the west bank of the Ivel does not extend beyond the kissing gate downstream of Ouse Farm. The small triangular spit of land beyond is part of the Roxton estate and the new owner(s) have erected signage accordingly. Members wishing to access Campers’ Meadow on the Ouse should follow the track heading west from the bridge at Ouse Farm and not along the river from Roxton lock and weir.
