News Update: 29th January 2023

With lakes still frozen for much of the week, the few anglers who ventured out were confined to fishing the rivers. Fraser Hayden has fished through the winter months but has found sport on the rivers far from easy. Last week, he decided to try his luck on the Ouse at Tempsford when fishing with luncheon meat he managed to catch three chub averaging around 3lb apiece. He returned the following day opting for a change of tactics by introducing small balls of mashed bread and fishing with bread flake. The change worked and he was able to land a cracking 4lb 10oz chub.

A welcome stocking of barbel has taken place with the introduction of fish into two of the Association’s stretches at Lavendon and Tyringham.
