News Update: 5th March 2023

Stewart Howes admitted that he had found catching big chub on his local stretches of the River Ivel hard going this season so he was rightly pleased to have caught a 5lb 12oz chub from the river during he week. The photograph of the fish shows that it had survived an otter attack which had bitten off part of its tail.

Members are reminded that they can renew their membership and night permits for the coming year. Full details are printed in their club books. We have a growing list of persons wanting to join the Association so, if you intend re-joining, do not delay. Membership rates remain the same as for the current year.

The Association’s AGM will be held at Tempsford Village Hall on Thursday, 16th March, at 7.30pm. The hall is located at the end of the road past the church. Some refreshments will be available.

Mr and Mrs Otter would like to thank the kind (stupid) person who decided to take it upon himself to enlarge the closure holes on the gate at Swan Lake without asking for permission to do so. This will afford easy access to them in the future. The person may not be aware that Board has filmed an otter gaining entry via such means at McGregor Lake which resulted in several carp being killed. Members are reminded that no work should be carried out without first asking for authorisation by the Board.
