News Update: 8th April 2023

Craig Leitch turned up at Swan Lake after heavy overnight rain to find water running into the lake from the nearby ditch. He spotted water pouring into through a pipe and thought this might attract some fish to feed around it. He had only just cast out his second rod when he felt the line tighten in his hand and realised that he was into a fish, a 17lb 8oz common carp. Not long after, he added a second carp, this time an 18lb 2oz mirror carp and went on to finish the day with a third, a 25lb 10oz mirror carp.

David Grant put in his latest 72-hour stint on Swan Lake as well as relining some of the swims with wood chippings single-handed. Sport was a little slow to start with but eventually his patience was rewarded by the capture of a 27lb 1oz mirror carp. Little did he know but the best was yet to come when he caught three big commons during the day weighing 30lb 6oz, 27lb 10oz and 35lb 1oz.
