News Update: 19th February 2019

Winston Pogmore made his first trip to his favourite stretch of the River Ivel at Tempsford in search of a chub or two. Fishing with link-ledgered bread flake, he soon hooked into a powerful fish that turned out to be a specimen 5lb 2oz chub.

News Update: 6th January 2019

Karl Franklin was back on the River Ivel after roach. He float-fished to catch a handful of roach in the 6-8oz range. Later, he tried for chub but could not attract any fish to feed.

Still Feeding Despite the Weather

Craig Brooks fished Gingerbread during the week and had a 25lb Mirror Carp.

Swan Lake continues with its recent run of 30lber’s, Julian Peacock had both a Mirror Carp and Common Carp, both of which weighed 32lb. Karl Franklin had a 20.10 Common form Swan Lake.

End of Season Chub

Chris Tribe targeted the river Ivel recently, using bread and managed a 5lb chub to bread. Chris reports that the river has been hard going this winter, with a roving approach needed to find the fish.

Chub Make A Change

The bridge across to the island at McGregor Lake has a hole in one of the planks, so anglers are advised to take care when crossing it to avoid having an accident

Cold Weather Carp

Fraser Hayden, had a short session on one of the lesser fished sections of the River Ivel. Finding the river in good condition following the recent high levels he managed several chub up to 3 1/2 lb and dace up to 6 ounces, the successful method being trotted flake fished over mashed bread.
